Relevant Experience:
To qualify for this role, we would expect a degree in a Geo Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, of working experience with applications integrated with Oracle databases in a multi-platform Linux/Windows environment.
· Good/Excellent written/verbal communications skills.
· Basic understanding of Oil exploration and Oil exploration terminology
· A significant understanding of Relational databases/SQL and use of SQL language (Oracle & MSSQL)
· Familiarity with parent-child database relationships.
· Experience of scripting/basic programming.
· Good/Excellent Troubleshooting skills with applications in a mixed environment (Linux/Windows, Client/Server).
· Networking (NAT, firewall, proxy server etc.) and Java runtime issues across multi-platform clients.
· An understanding of or experience of system Virtualisation.
· Be capable of Installing and Administering Linux enterprise servers.
· Be capable of Installing/Administering Windows 2003/2008 server.
· Knowledge of Citrix Management Console.
· Any knowledge of Landmark GGT applications and OpenWorks a plus.
