Purpose of the Position


To provide technical oversight to the WV construction projects in Pakistan.

Major responsibilities

  • Assist Sector specialist to conduct preliminary technical survey for potential geographical intervention area.
  • Assist in proposal preparation and grant management of WASH projects.
  • Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications and structural repairs to managerial personnel.
  • Assist Wash specialist for organizing ways and means by which management of indigenous resources at the village level can be improved.
  • Assist the sector specialist in overseeing of pre-qualification and bidding of local suppliers and contractors ensuring direct compliance to established standard.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects and activities.
  • Assist sector specialist for raising requisitions and to manage projects expenditures.
  • Provide skilled assistance to stakeholders, beneficiaries and managers by interpreting and carry out directions for planning and organizing water related projects.
  • To supervise the direct implementation, construction and operation activities at project sites, following applicable construction and government standards.
  • To provide support to sector specialist in management and ongoing project evaluation and prepare weekly/ monthly reports.
  • Estimate costs and prepare specifications for materials used in the field of water engineering works, calculate costs and estimate completion times to prepare tenders.
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress, implement effectively activities and ensure conformance to design specification and sanitation standards.
  • Provide information to supervisors, coworkers, and subordinates in written form, e-mail, or person.
  • Supervise the testing and commissioning of completed works.

REQUIREMENTS.
Education
  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Construction Engineering or similar.
Experience
  • At least 2 years of previous experience in working on construction projects.
  • Good command of oral and written English is a must.
  • Some computer literacy is needed.
